Quran, Islamic Books Distributed in Comoros Universities

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Kuwait-based Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS) gifted hundreds of Quran copies and Islamic books to universities in the Republic of Comoros.
According to al-anba.com website, the move was in line with the society’s activities to disseminate moderation and fighting extremism and terrorism, it said.
The books were distributed in a ceremony held by the Imam Shafi’i Faculty of Comoros University.
The program was organized under the supervision of the country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
Judges, students, preachers and officials were the different groups who received the Quran copies and the religious books.
The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Hussein Jamal Al-Lail, minister of Islamic affairs in Comoros, Sheikh Abdul Karim Muhammad Shakir, head of the country’s Association of Islamic Charity and a number of intellectuals and university students.
Addressing the program, the minister thanked the Kuwaiti government and nation, particularly the RIHS for the Revival of Islamic Heritage and appreciated their support for the activities of the ministry.
