“Just wondering why always false information from Bangladeshi side, if media’s report correct.”: Hualong Yan, China’s Ambassador to Dhaka
Mousumi Nargis Lucky from Dhaka:China’s vaccination is again in limbo. China’s ambassador to Dhaka, Huang Yan, said he was “annoyed” by the price of the synoform vaccine.
On Saturday (June 5), Huang Yan, China’s deputy chief of mission in Bangladesh, said in a post on his Facebook account that the Chinese government was far from it, and that Bangladesh had not yet reached an agreement with Sinofarm to buy the vaccine.
In a Facebook post, he said, if the media information is correct, then why only false information is being given by Bangladesh! Needless to say, first of all, there has been no agreement from Bangladesh with Sinofarm so far.
Second, it is not a Chinese government, but a business agreement between Sinofarm and Bangladesh. And we hope that our Bangladeshi brothers and sisters will get the necessary vaccinations on the earlier (scheduled) date.
Negotiations with Chinese company Sinofarm to tackle the corona crisis began several months ago. In the midst of the Bangladesh-China vaccination diplomacy process, Li Jiming, the country’s ambassador to Bangladesh, claimed that Bangladesh was late in buying the vaccine due to its inability to make quick decisions and delays.
Then in the process of vaccination comes an undisclosed agreement. For this, a kind of demand form signed in the place of writing in Chinese language was later reduced and various administrative weaknesses in the Ministry of Health also came to the fore.
In violation of the terms of the undisclosed agreement, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Shahida Akhter said that China National Pharmaceutical Group-Synopharm has agreed to vaccinate Bangladesh with 1.5 crore corona at 10 US dollars per dose. The Chinese side expressed anger. Later, Bangladesh had to apologize to China.
Huang Yan, China’s last deputy chief of mission in Bangladesh, said in a post on his Facebook account that the Chinese government is far from it, and that Bangladesh has not yet reached an agreement with Sinofarm to buy the vaccine. However, another 6 lakh doses of Chinese gift vaccine will arrive in Bangladesh by June 13, said the Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission.
