India has announced the granting of citizenship to people of all faiths except Muslims. This information was found in the report of Genius.

The report said the announcement was made by the Indian Home Ministry on Friday. Non-Muslims (Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists) living in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab will be given Indian citizenship.

At the same time, the Home Ministry has extended an invitation to all except Muslims to apply immediately.

The notification was issued under the Citizenship Act 1955 and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) enacted in 2009, Genius reported. Not as per the amended citizenship law in 2019.

Incidentally, protests began across the country after the passage of the 2019 Citizenship Act (CAA). Even riots broke out in Delhi That anti-CAA storm continues in 2020.
